Orchard Toys Where's My Cupcake + giveaway

You'll know from past posts that I'm a fan of Orchard Toys fabulous educational games. Not only am I a fan but my two children are too, so much that I'm just glad I am building up a fair collection these days and am not forced to play Shopping List endlessly.

Orchard Toys asked me if I wanted to try out their newest game - Where's My Cupcake? and of course I said yes.

Where's My Cupcake is a matching game aimed at 3-7 year olds so perfect for my children aged 5 and 6.  The aim of the game is to see how many cupcakes you can match and collect however the game also introduces a sharing element as other players offer you a cupcake if they don't need it.

Both my son and daughter enjoyed playing this game, my son is a natural sharer who enjoyed offering up the cupcakes and my daughter, who is all about the pretty, loved the designs on the cards. I'll be honest, so did I!

This game, like the others before it, have educational elements which in the case of Where's My Cupcake are that it encourages observation, matching and counting skills and develops social communication, sharing, co-operation and manners. I volunteer in the reception class at school and I think once we've finished with this game in a year or two I shall be donating it to them. We already use some Orchard Toys in school and I think this would be the perfect game to encourage co-operation amongst some of the little children.

Like all Orchard Toys games that I have played previously, it's fabulous quality and made of robust thick card and from my experience, even after dozens of play, they remain in rather good nick.

We loved Where's My Cupcake and I suspect it will get a whole lot of use in our house for a long time to come! And now the good news! I've got one of these fab games to give away.

How to win...

If you want to get your hands on this great game all you have to do is leave a comment below telling me what your dream flavour cupcake would be. Please also send a quick email to hello@athomewithmrsm.com so that I am able to contact the winner.  The giveaway closes on Friday 22nd June 2012 and the winner will be chosen at random. Good luck!

Where's My Cupcake is available now and retails at £7.50. You can buy it direct from the Orchard Toys website and there's free delivery if you spend over £15.00.

With thanks to Orchard Toys for providing this game to review.

  1. Thanks so much for this lovely review. So pleased that your children had fun playing our game.

Don't know whether you are into baking, but do let us know if you use the recipe included in the game, to bake some cupcakes with your children.

To launch the game locally we had an internal cupcake baking competition, with lots of entries (yum, yum) and Jason, our Design Manager won with some exceptionally good cupcakes baked using the recipe included in the game!

  2. Orchard toys are unbeatable. My dream flavour would be a flavour that would allow me to sneak vegetables into it so I could get my kids to eat them! But as nobody has invented that yet I'll go with coffee & walnut.

  3. This sounds like a fab game and I agree that Orchard Toys are brilliant! My dream cupcake flavour is raspberry and white chocolate - always delicious and not as messy as milk chocolate for a toddler to eat.

  5. I'm going all out for Heinz Tomato Sauce flavour, to my mind cupcakes have been dominated by airy-fairy flavours for too long and it's about time a robust savoury stance was taken...so, TommyK it is then ;#)

Let's go for Sticky Toffee. Nice sweet toffee frosting and soft, moist sponge with little bits of chewy toffee baked in. Only condition would be that the whole thing had to be egg-free so I could share with my wee favourite cousin who'll be the lucky recipient of this game.

  70. Unquestionably believe that that you said. Your favourite reason seemed to be at
the net the simplest factor to bear in mind of. I say to
you, I definitely get annoyed even as other people think about worries that they just do not know about.
You managed to hit the nail upon the highest as well as outlined out the entire thing without having side-effects , other people
can take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks

without a doubt, you've hit the nail on the head. The issue is something which not enough men and women are speaking intelligently about. I'm very happy I
came across this in my search for something regarding this.
